Dental services expand

Brenda Klingebiel, dental administrator at Oak Orchard Community Health Center, learned about a grant available from the First Presbyterian Church in Brockport, wrote the grant and presented it to the First Presbyterian Church.

Jerry Wilson, from the church, did several walks through of the OOCHC facility to make sure that the project would be of good value to the community and fit the criteria of the grant. Through a grant received from another source, OOCHC had built two dental operatory rooms, but did not have the funding to furnish them.

With the $10,000 grant from FPC, OOCHC furnished both rooms with dental equipment, chairs, instruments, supplies, x-ray machines, etc. These facilities will allow OOCHC to serve more people. Beginning in June, OOCHC dental will be implementing a new system of digital x-rays and electronic dental records.

OOCHC offers services to all from the uninsured to the high-end income in the Monroe, Orleans and Genesee county areas. OOCHC has two full service facilities, 300 West Avenue in Brockport and 301 West Avenue in Albion. They also provide a mobile dental unit to provide services in the Orleans and Genesee county areas that offers a full range of services to schools and under-served areas. Call 637-3905 or 589-5613 for information.
