Weddings for February 2007


Stacey L. Carpenter - Nicholas R. Capitummino

Dennis and Mary Jo Carpenter of Holley and Salvatore and Margaret Capitummino of Schenectady are pleased to announce the engagement of their children Stacey L. Carpenter and Nicholas R. Capitummino.

Stacey earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in teaching from Buffalo State College. She is a Special Education teacher in the Buffalo Public School System.

Nicholas earned his bachelor's degree at St. Rose's College and master's degree from the Boston Conservatory. He is a music teacher in the Lakeshore School System.

An August 11, 2007 wedding is planned.


Jill Gabriel - Joshua Daws

Ray and Karen Gabriel of Brockport announce the engagement of their daughter Jill E. to Joshua L. Daws. Joshua is the son of Sherry Norris of West Palm Beach, Florida and Gregory Daws of St. Louis, Missouri.

Jill is a 1996 graduate of Brockport Central School and 2000 graduate of Jacksonville University. She is the director of Account Relations for Wise & Time Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations firm in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Josh is a 1997 graduate of Palm Beach Lakes High School and attended Jacksonville University until he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2001. He is employed by Lee County Parks and Recreation in Florida.

An October 2007 wedding is planned.


Leicht - Young

Stacey A. Leicht and David J. Young were united in marriage April 29, 2006 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Susan Leicht of Oakland, New Jersey. The groom is the son of Ronald and Mary Young of Spencerport.

Amy Leicht was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Christa Bucklin, Mary Patricia Bomher and Eugenia Edwards.

Jacob Manning served as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Penna, Elliot Ranger, Ronson Madathil and Michael Vito.

Stacey received her bachelor of science degree in biological science from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 and her Ph.D. in ecology from the University of Connecticut in 2005. She is employed by the United States Geological Survey as an ecologist in Porter, Indiana.

David received his bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. He is a medical student at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine, pursuing a combined M.D. - Ph.D. degree.

The newlyweds honeymooned in California's Napa Valley and Yosemite National Park. They reside in Chicago, Illinois.


Julie A. Cohoon - Michael T. Marra

Robert and Bonnie Cohoon of Spencerport are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Julie A. to Michael T. Marra, son of Peter Marra of Clearwater, Florida and Sandy Englehardt of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Julie is a 1994 graduate of Spencerport High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Scranton. She is employed by Strong Memorial Hospital as an occupational therapist.

Michael is also a 1994 graduate of Spencerport High School and a 1998 graduate of SUNY Cortland. He received his master's degree from SUNY Brockport. He is a History teacher at Spencerport High School.

A June 30, 2007 wedding is planned.


Erin Brabant - Matthew Wermuth

Robert and Mardell Brabant of Churchville announce the engagement of their daughter Erin to Matthew Wermuth, son of Karen Wermuth of Churchville and the late Ned Wermuth.

The bride-to-be, a graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School, received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a technical specialist at American Packing Corporation.

Her fiancé, also a graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School, received a bachelor's degree in technology education from the State University of New York at Oswego and master's degree in education from Walden University. He is a Technology Education teacher in the Churchville-Chili School District.

Their wedding is planned for June 23, 2007.


Kara Bassett - Brad Mulcahy

Patrick and Laurie Bassett of Hilton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Kara to Brad Mulcahy, son of James and Victoria Mulcahy of McGraw, New York.

Kara is a 1997 graduate of Hilton High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and is enrolled in the MBA Program at SUNY Binghamton.

Brad is a 1996 graduate of McGraw High School. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering and SUNY Binghamton with a masters degree in engineering. Both are employed by BAE Systems in Johnson City, New York.

An August 2007 wedding is planned.


Lindsay E. Olmsted - Tony M. Cavallaro

Michael and Shirley Olmsted of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and Joe and June Cavallaro of Brockport are proud to announce the engagement of their children, Lindsay E. Olmsted and Tony M. Cavallaro.

The bride-to-be is attending SUNY Brockport, pursuing a degree in nursing. She is employed by Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Albion.

Her fiancé is a graduate of SUNY Brockport with a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics. He manages Cavallaro-Neubauer Resale Center in Ontario, New York.

An August 2007 wedding is planned.


Emily Ruth Caton - Andrew Burke Volpe

Dr. and Mrs. Scott Brenon Caton of Spencerport announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Ruth, to Andrew Burke Volpe, son of Gene and Mary Kay Volpe of Rochester.

Ms. Caton, a summa cum laude graduate of Johns Hopkins University in 2005, is finishing her second year with Teach for America as a teacher in Brooklyn.

Mr. Volpe graduated from LeMoyne College and is a teacher for Monroe #1 BOCES.

A July 7, 2007 wedding has been planned -- since 1998 when Ms. Caton and Mr. Volpe were both Spencerport High School students.
